CHALLENGE

The team at SPHERE created the challenge of communicating physical activity guidelines for people with mental health problems in a creative and attractive way. Communicating the SPHERE guidelines to wide range of people such as mental health practitioners, physical activity coordinators in mental health services, physiotherapists, psychiatrists, mental health nurses, occupational therapists and exercise practitioners in mental health services. The aim was to help people with mental health through a rehabilitation programme using physical activity.

CONCEPT
The visual language which has been created represents how movement and physical activity can be shown threw curved lines, any gaps in the lines reinforces how people with mental health problems can feel broken but the guidelines and the benefits almost act as glue to highlight the beneficial nature of the intervention. The outcomes which have been created are for the sport practitioners and health professionals to use when highlighting the guidelines to their patients. Some promotional material is also needed to convey the SPHERE project and encourage individuals to join the intervention.
